Astrotech Modules do benefit from being grouped together (being adjacent to one another), increasing their repair speed. You can also choose which block outputs the beam by finding the Astrotech Module you want to output the beam, and pressing $ACTIVATE on it. AstroTech Modules can used to repair damage to blocks.
