As this is such a low number, it's not even worth effort to use these unless the bonus per block from your onboard power reactors is below 193 per block, and you have more than 3415 reactor blocks.

Auxiliary power is a new block type that tries to replace docked reactors.

The grouping mechanism works such that they don't require spatial patterns. in small groups, auxilliary power adds 25.2 power per block.

This can go all the way up to a maximum.
