The StarMade launcher is a standalone application that presents the latest news, council news and quick access to support. Allows managing installed versions of StarMade, updating to the latest version, selecting release channels such as development, pre-release, release archive, and launching the game with custom memory settings and Java arguments. Built on Electron.
Overview
Initially released on 27th August, 2016 to replace the original launcher and bring an improved look. The launcher comes with Java 7 bundled to allow starting the came on systems without Java already installed, while also allowing the launcher to select the correct bit version to support both 32bit and 64bit systems, as previously users were facing difficulty installing the correct Java version for their system. Version 7 was selected based on best performance to improve game experience. Users are free to configure the launcher to use their own installation of java.
